The client is one of the largest retail chains in Asia and is the biggest in Middle East with 160 outlets in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
The group's worldwide operations cover business divisions in retail segment for the popular hypermarket brand, shopping mall destinations, food processing plants, wholesale distribution

Business Scenario

The client implementing the SAP CAR to transform their system landscapes from traditional database technology to the revolutionary, in-memory database technology. With SAP CAR, Point-of-sale (POS) data in real time processing into the CAR, used for Real time inventory in stores, keep the data at the most granular level, comes with an embedded Forecasting engine, provide some of Consuming applications such as SAP Merchandise Planning for Retail and also offers powerful real-time analytic capabilities. 

The solution should be capable of processing large volumes of data from multiple customer touch-points including in-store, phone orders and ecommerce. And also analytics on collected multichannel customer and POS data to  discover, visualise, and share hidden insights in real time.

  • POSDTA Implementation: Provided PIPE configurations in SAP CAR to process the point of sale data. And verifying POS transactions against master data, Perform checks like Duplicate Transaction Numbers, Balanced sales and tender totals,Receipt data as compared to cash desk totals,Credit card data. Perform sales auditing, Summarize POS transaction data and Sending the POS data to follow up system SAP ECC and SAP BW. Customized based on the requirement.
  • Inventory Visibility: SAP Customer Activity Repository provides a  snapshot of inventory and stock levels in real-time. This makes it easier to optimize business operations by assessing how much is left of each item at all of its store locations, eliminating the endless nightly  inventory posting runs.
  • Accurate Demand Forecasting(DDF/UDF): By leveraging advanced forecasting science within SAP Customer Activity Repository, brands will be able to make use of a unified forecast of all  channels to better anticipate future demand. Taking into account price velocity, seasons and trends at  lightning fast speeds, brands can try out different pricing, promotional and merchandising scenarios to most significantly impact future demand. 
  • On-shelf availability: With the On-shelf availability functionality, Retails can get the stock out details based on the past sales. Detection of availability problems in performing an analysis of historical sales. Detection of incorrect availability stock: the Real stock is 0 but available stock in the system is above 0.
  • Product Affinity: The affinity analytics feature in Demand Data Foundation (DDF) allows you to identify such relationships between your products based on transaction log (TLOG) data available in SAP Customer Activity Repository.
