The constant endeavors and focused approach have helped us to deliver quite a few smart solutions which are adopted by leading organizations in multiple industries. Following are some of the solutions from our Labs:

Maventic team brings the E-waybill integration within the SAP

The government of India (GOI) had mandated the movement of goods from one location to another must be registered with GOI portals. The mandate was based on the volume of goods transferred and the category of goods. This mandate necessitated that most organizations implement a seamless integration of their ERP solution with GOI e-way bill portals.

The typical approach was to extract the transaction data from the ERP systems like SAP, store in a cloud system, and send it to the e-way bill portal. There were delays in registering the data and getting confirmation back, which slowed down the movement of the data. In addition, some organizations were uncomfortable storing sensitive data in another system.

Maventic’s R&D worked relentlessly for close to ten weeks to directly connect SAP systems with the GOI portal and ensured a seamless, secure, and real-time integration. The solution provided data security and helped quick adoption. This was the first solution available in the market with direct and seamless SAP connectivity.

The Industry leaders received the solution quite well, and more than 100 organizations adopted the Maventic solution while extending it for e-invoice and GST return filing as and when required.

Field Service solution agnostic to any CRM solution

Field service solution is becoming quite a mainstay solution these days. However, a few years back, it was adopted by only a few organizations. This is because the solutions either needed to be completed from a functionality perspective or were too expensive.

Our R&D team decided to build a comprehensive solution from a functionality perspective, a top-notch, world-class solution. The team embarked on the journey with a few factors as critical facets of the solution.

  • Firstly, the solution must be comprehensive and easily adaptable to customer needs.
  • Secondly, it has to support BYOD ( Bring your own device ) and powerful offline support as the field
  • persons may not have connectivity. This necessitated that the solution support several devices, including low-end devices.
  • Thirdly, the solution should integrate all leading CRM solutions.
  • Fourthly, it should be easy to manage and operate such a solution even if the number of users is in the thousands.
  • Lastly, it should leverage mobile device features like a camera and GPS.

The demand from the R&D team was highly strenuous. But the team brought several innovations and built the solution from scratch. The first release had sporadic issues. The complete team worked with dynamism to resolve them. As a result, the solution is extensively used in the most demanding environment without hiccups.

The solution today works in environments with several thousand users with all the features like attendance, space parts, warranty, service order management.

Map-based data analytics

Digital maps like Google Maps are part of our lives; they touch our lives in many more ways than we can imagine. Not only citizens such maps are extensively helping organizations to be more effective and customer-centric and make it a part of their growth story.

Amongst several use cases, an innovative use case is visually understanding several KPIs like Sales or Service KPIs on a map. This helps the top and middle management quickly compare and get deep business insights in a user friendly way for faster corrective actions. In addition, the KPIs can be benchmarked against internal and external data.

The critical challenge for our R&D team was handling large amounts of data. Customers typically need to see the exceptions and then drill down until they can identify the reasons behind them. The team experimented with several algorithms and could build a solution that could take data with hinderds of thousands retailers and provide a user experience and speed acceptable to the users.

Geo fencing for field users

Field users like sales and service teams need to be in the field and keep moving from one place to another by the nature of their job. They typically use Google maps to find and plan the right path to their next destination.

There are several tasks that the field users perform that need to be done at the location. e.g., completing maintenance tasks, capturing specific data, and capturing shelf space or equipment pictures. Geo-fencing helps eliminate malpractices like the field user manipulating the data without visiting the location.

Enabling geo-fencing ensures that the field user can update the task status on the mobile device at the location only. The solution will only allow the updation of the tasks if the user is on the site. Organizations can configure the geofencing perimeter and, if required, set up exceptional approval.

A map view will also show all the exceptions of a user, thus providing an idea of the number of exceptions and supporting data-based insights on the working of the field person.

Customers who implemented geo-fencing observed increased customer satisfaction and increased efficiency of the field persons.

Bar-code-based mobile solution for increased efficiency

QR codes / Bar-codes are pervasive in our lives. Be a product that we buy or get to a desired URL with the ubiquitous mobile phones. These small codes efficiently bridge the analog to the digital world through encoded information. These codes have been used in multiple areas to make logistics processes efficient for manufacturing and retail organizations.

Our R&D team has worked extensively in multiple areas to leverage the immense opportunities provided by these tags. Some of the places where we increased the power of the processes:

  • Warehouse operations for goods receipt and good issue
  • Tracking individual items with serialized information within the code.
  • Increasing the efficiency of the field service people by providing them features to scan the equipment bar-code to take them to relevant screens, thus providing a better user experience. This also helps provide additional proof that the person is at the location.

The team worked on making such solutions even more powerful by providing several configurations for printing labels or customizing the processes for individual customer needs.

Occasionally connected to occasionally disconnected

A few years back, connectivity was minimal outside the office, home, or hotels. People using mobile devices like laptops will need offline solutions where they keep working on the field, like taking orders or completing inspection tasks. Therefore, they required offline solutions, which are occasionally connected for data sync with their backend systems. However, in today’s world, connectivity is available in most places. Users can do their tasks with online mobile apps without any complex offline solution.

However, mission-critical tasks cannot depend on the internet connection as there may be patches of no connectivity. Therefore, it still needs an offline solution to ensure the smooth functioning of such mission-critical tasks. Our team worked on moving from occasionally connected to occasionally disconnected solutions to leverage the connectivity available and provide an elevated user experience to field users.

Our offline solutions work continuously in an online mode and synch up the data between the mobile device and a backend solution without any delays. The user thus has up-to-date data without any specific action to be taken. However, when the connection is unavailable, they can still keep working as smoothly as when it was available. All the delta information captured during this period will automatically synch up whenever the user gets connectivity and again without any specific intervention from the users.

This ensures the solution’s smooth functioning, provides a superior user experience, and distributes the information without delays to enable faster action on critical tasks.
